Local Hero

We were kids at school when I first saw Gregory's Girl. I don't remember ever being shown another film at school, it was a really unexpected thing . They just announced it on the day I think and we all filed into the hall where they'd set up a projector. I'd heard of the film already and wasn't thrilled about the subject matter, a bit grumpy in fact but as it started I soon forgot all about that and I instantly fell in love with it's off-beat, surreal humour and wonderful cast. I immediately wanted to move to Glasgow and live in that world... I still do if I'm honest. I have loved Bill Forsyth's movies ever since and I was really thrilled recently to get the chance to score an adaptation of what is perhaps his best known film, Local Hero for BBC Radio 4. This is a really lovely adaptation by Bafflegab Productions and debuts on the 27th of April.
The Landing Light

All three episodes of Season I of the Landing Light are now available to stream now on the major streaming sites (Spotify, Amazon, Apple, Castbox). This podcast was a huge amount of work to put together and I'm really proud of it. I wrote all three stories, composed the music as well as editing and mixing each one (not to mention appearing in them). We are currently planning a second season. Check out The Landing Light here:
The Sairie Hour
Emma and I record the 12th episode of our radio show The Sairie Hour this Friday (11th April) which means that we have reached the milestone of our first birthday. I can't believe that we've been doing the show for a year already. It's been so much fun and every month we record something new for the show (this time we've done a version of The May Carol). The theme this time is Beltane so come and join us on Slack City Radio on Thursday 17th April at 10pm live or listen on catch-up via the button below (where you can also catch up with all the previous shows):
