Well. I am very, very happy to be able to finally announce the release of the music that I composed for the Annie Award nominated series Buddi. Indeed, not just an album but a double album.
A huge amount of work has gone into this project: most pieces from the series were far too short for an album but when we started work on the series the idea was always that the music would be released at some point and I bore that in mind all through the composing process. I have had to come back to the initial pieces and develop and expand them but there are also all sorts of additional pieces included that were written during the development period of Buddi, in fact some date from the very early days of the project when the idea and format of the show were constantly changing. Jason and Paul at Unanico were always determined that this would be a show with a lot of depth and soul, they wanted to emulate the atmosphere and heart of classic 70's British children's TV and they wanted the music to be a big part of that. They have allowed me complete creative freedom compiling and expanding these pieces and as a result this is a very eclectic and varied collection of which I am extremely proud.
The first single to be released is The Buddi Theme Tune (expanded from the TV version) With a B side of an alternative version all played on kitchen utensils (feel free to buy me a drink and ask how that came about!)
Initially the album will be released as a series of singles that will be available on all major streaming platforms. There will also be all sorts of specially made videos and new video content via the dedicated Buddi World You Tube channel! So be sure to subscribe to this to see all the new videos as they get released!
